Large Abstrract Commission Oil Painting

I have just finished a very large abstract painting for a collector in Texas. Four by six feet. This was such a challenge for me... the sheer size of the painting had me rethinking the entire process.. from how to get the canvas out of the huge tube it was shipped in to how much paint I had to mix so I wasn't remixing with every brushstroke. I loved it and hope to paint another large piece soon.

OK! After a two year hiatus I am back to blogging again. :) so here goes.. I have recently painted a small painting for our upcoming travel show at Brushstrokes. It is from a trip to Italy and is along the Chianti Road from Siena to Florence.

Fresh new work! 48"x60" aspen oil painting

I recently finished a fairly large 48"x60" landscape of aspen trees and a path in the Rocky Mountains titled 'Autumn's Glory" It was shipped to Gallery 1401 in Chattanooga, TN for the grand opening of their new gallery space. Congratulations to Sue and her great staff!

Welcome to the first post on my new website! These two large original oil paintings were commissioned by Craig Hospital in Denver, Colorado for the new addition that just opened. The "We Are Craig" dogs is in the lobby and I need to find where "Hobie Days" was placed. :) I was honored to be the artist chosen to paint both of these paintings for the hospital. A long time ago.. in the 80's I was an operating room nurse at Swedish Hospital Ambulatory Surgery Center and watched the wonderful staff at Craig in action. My wish is that these paintings bring smiles and joy into the hearts of the patients,  families and staff at Craig. Have a colorful day! Anita
